Photograms on Cyanotype-Coated Fabric

Nature and its infinite beauty greatly inspire me. It has a way of captivating us with its intricate details and I strive to capture this essence in my art. Using photograms of various plants printed on cyanotype-coated fabric, I hope to cultivate a deeper connection between us and the natural world as a reminder of our place within it.

Feeling Blue is rooted in the belief that we are all intrinsically connected to nature and that our relationship with it is important for our well-being. Spending time in nature allows one to escape daily distractions and connect with the environment, leading to a greater appreciation of life around us. It is important to take time to slow down, go outside, and observe while everything tends to move so fast around us.

Through this immersive installation, consisting of forty-three cyanotype photograms of various plants covering the entire back wall of the gallery, I sought to create an environment that mimics the experience of being among nature. The forty-two by fifteen inch prints are hung up horizontally, vertically, and layered on top of each other to echo the complexity and layers found in nature. Printed on cloth, each piece is imbued with a sense of movement and dimensionality, lending them an overall sense of organic authenticity.
